Press Release: SIERRRA LEONE ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION ARRESTS 3 FRAUD EBOLA RESPONSE WORKERS RECIVING PAY
Reports reaching the Hazard Pay Management Team for Ebola Response Workers (ERWs) confirmed that the Anti-Corruption Commission on Friday arrested three (5) ERWs who allegedly showed up at the Saint Theresa Treatment center for double re-verification.
The 3 personnel were reported to have re- verified at a different location early this week.
Police say the three ERW are in custody at the Ross Road Police Station and are helping the police with the investigation.
Lead coordinator of the biometric re-verification exercise, Lesley Gordon Browne told the cash payment that the accused, had earlier re-verified at the Macaulay street hospital under affected community category and was about to be re-verified again as Contact Tracers at another location.
In another development, the ACC is currently investing an issue of alleged malpractice and manipulation of the ERWs hazard pay list at the Macaulay Street hospital.
